Route description Rifugio Chiusa mountain hut

The hike to the Rifugio Chiusa mountain hut begins at the large Kühhof hikers' parking lot located above the mountain village of Lazfons.

Following path no. 1 in the direction of the Rifugio Chiusa mountain hut, the wide hiking trail winds its way in a gentle ascent through sparse wooded areas and alpine meadows rich in views. Along the path, benches invite you to take a short break.

After a good hour of gentle hiking, you reach the Rifugio Chiusa mountain hut, nestled in green alpine meadows. With a view of the Dolomites opposite, it is open from the beginning of May to the end of October (2021). While the adults let their gaze wander over renowned Summits such as the Sass de Putia, the Odle di Funes peaks or the Sassolungo in Val Gardena valley and enjoy the cozy atmosphere, the children can also let off steam on the hut's own playground.

The way back from the Rifugio Chiusa mountain hut is the same as on the way there.

Those who want to extend the hike can, for example, continue to the picturesque pilgrimage church Croce di Lazfons, visit the picturesque Laghi Gelati lakes, climb up to the Monte Pascolo peak or the Cima San Cassiano peak.

The Rifugio Chiusa mountain hut is open also in winter. When a white blanket of snow has settled over the Val d'Isarco valley, the ascent path is also used as a toboggan run.

If the Kühhof car park is occupied, you can also start the hike to the Rifugio Chiusa hut at the Zalter Säge hiking car park, which is a little lower down.
