Route description of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo circuit

The circuit of the world-famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo starts at the parking lot near the Rifugio Auronzo mountain hut, which is reached by taking the toll road near Misurina.

Below the Rifugio Auronzo mountain hut, take hiking trail no. 101. It leads along the eastern side of the Tre Cime di Landro almost flat to the inviting Rifugio Lavaredo mountain hut at an altitude of 2,344 meters.

From the Rifugio Lavaredo mountain hut you can either walk along the foot of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo or take the gravel path branching off to the right and climb up to the Forcella Lavaredo, which separates the world-famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo from the Monte Paterno.

A little later, on the 2,454 m high crossing, a breathtaking close-up view of the imposing rock faces of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, the Monte Paterno and the entire Three Peaks plateau opens up.

During the summer months there are usually many hikers here, some of whom also hike up from the Val Fiscalina valley, the Innerfeld valley, the Forcella Pian di Cengia valleyor the Riienztal valley to this probably most visited mountain hut in the Dolomites.

It first descends to the nearby Rienzboden and then winds its way gently up to the idyllic Langalm mountain hut made of light-colored natural stone. At the foot of the imposing Tre Cime di Lavaredo north face, the innkeepers here conjure up delicious meals prepared from regional ingredients .

Continuing to follow trail number 105, the trail winds its way up from the Langalm mountain hut to the Forcella Col di Mezzo pass on the western edge of the Three Peaks. After another quarter of an hour, it leads from the Forcella back to the starting point.
